The opening ceremony – a spectacular event
On 11 February at 7.00 pm, the W.O.W. Plaza in Lenzerheide will be transformed into a stage full of emotions. Together with Ladina Meier-Ruge, Stephan Kaufmann and our mascot Lenzi, we will officially kick off the major sporting event of the year – the 2025 Biathlon World Championships!

The prelude
Schoolchildren will kick off the event with a medley of Swiss songs, while the flags of all 34 participating nations will be ceremoniously presented.

Welcome to the guests of honour
With Stefan Engler, President of the Biathlon World Championships 2025 Association, and Selina Gasparin, 2014 Olympic silver medallist and event ambassador, we will delve deep into the world of biathlon. A review of the Swiss Ski World Cup season and Selina's personal insights provide emotional highlights.

Tradition meets modernity
An alphorn trio sets the musical tone before Olle Dahlin, President of the International Biathlon Union (IBU), together with Urs Lehmann and Peter Barandun, Co-Presidents of Swiss Ski, ring in the official part of the opening. The celebratory IBU fanfare announces the next highlight: the official World Championship song, ‘Let's Make History’, a hymn that perfectly captures the spirit of the event.
